In great secrecy, Cyborg industries managed to succeed where many have failed: they created a plasma weapon which could be easily hidden by operatives or spies, as wel as being usable for tank crews. And despite its size, it is comparable to high-grade plasma assault rifles in terms of fire-power.
The main obstacle the engineers had was how to get rid of the heat. The larger plasma weapons have the space to incorporate large cooling systems, but that was not an option, for the whole idea was to keep it small.
Then one of the engineers came up with a brilliant solution: the heat would be thrusted out of the gun by flaps on the side during use.
Because the gun had to be collapsible, large optics were also out of the question. Instead, the Special Tech Division designed small, collapsible all weather holosights. These sights, despite only being 1/4th inch thick, have zoom, night and thermal capabilities.
Lights indicate readiness of item
green: ready for use
red: collapsed / venting heat
The batteries have indicators which show the status of the clip
green: locked & charged
red: not connected to weapon
To avoid detection, the lights have three settings:
normal: you can see the lights at any given time
stealth: special eye implants needed to see lights (standard for spec ops operatives), implants need to be calibrated to exactly the same frequency, so only the user can see them (every weapon has a slightly different frequency)
off: completely off to conserve energy in storage / during travel
From top to bottom:
- ejecting battery and venting heat
- collapsed and unloaded
